Harper, Cannon: Unrelenting in Support for Israel

From Sunday’s press release out of Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, addressing the increase in hostilities between Israel and Hamas:

“We urge renewed international diplomatic efforts to achieve a sustainable and durable ceasefire, starting with the halting of all rocket attacks on Israel. Canada maintains that the rocket attacks are the cause of this crisis.”

Once again, God bless Stephen Harper. To the opposition leaders (and Lizzie May) who can’t bring themselves to call a spade a spade and support Israel against murderous thugs: enjoy your adulation at the next big fascist Hezbo-rally, you cowardly, despicable losers.

  1. Yep.

That’s definitely what this situation needs: more people uncategorically taking sides.

That’s sure to solve the problems in the Middle East. Hell, it’s worked for the last 2000 years, hasn’t it?

Yep. Gloss over all the wrongs by one side and point out only the wrongs of the other. Keep at it. I’m sure you’ll have this problem licked in two … maybe three thousand more years.

  2. Thanks again, Greg, for clearly demonstrating the incoherence of secular atheism. If you can’t distinguish between right and wrong, between good and evil, then you’ve lost your humanity. So let me ask you: between Hamas governance and Israeli governance, is there no difference?

  3. Fred . . .

In this case there is a clear right and wrong side. Folks like Greg just haven’t figured out which is which because theri moral compass is in for repairs.

    Maybe this will help.

Hamas TV for their kids . . . or how to raise a generation of baby Boomers

  4. Of course there’s a clear right and wrong.

The Palestinians who want to live in peace on the land they’ve lived on for generations are right. Those who fire random ballistic rockets in to Israel are wrong.

The Israelis who want to live in peace with their neighbours are right. Those who would rather live in settlements made by bulldozing their neighbour’s olive orchards are wrong. Those who would bomb the most densely populated place on earth and kill hundreds of innocent people are wrong.

And the people on both sides who teach their children to mindlessly follow a religion to the point where it becomes racism? They’re all wrong.

Maybe that’s just my crazy secular atheism talking, but it seems to me that killing innocent people is wrong no matter what your religion is – even if you think god promised you the land on which those people are living.

As for Hamas vs Israeli governance. I have no idea. Hamas, once elected, never had a chance to govern.
