Yet another example of the muddied mind of a prominent confused liberal. Stephane Dion, leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, supports so-called “safe injection sites” for intravenous drug users in Canada, despite the fact that the one test project in Vancouver’s slum Lower East Side, has been a disaster, and is being shut down in June after a final six-month extension to the clinic by the Conservative government expires. Why?
Without being asked about it, he told the crowd of about 150 students that Canada’s only safe-injection site – known as Insite and situated in the Downtown Eastside – “is something in which we believe.
“I think the current government has an ideological approach about that,”Mr. Dion told the gathering, which was co-ordinated by the Young Liberals of UBC.
Any idiot knows that Dion – a lifetime pinhead academic – doesn’t have a problem with “ideology” per se – it’s CONSERVATIVE ideology he has a problem with. So, his statement is disingenuous from the outset. But the obvious implication is: because conservative ideology would tend to agree that enabling addicts is wrong, liberals must agree that it is right. Therefore, the Liberal Party MUST stand in defense of safe-injection sites!
Take that to the campaign trail, Steffi. Put it right in your red book. Or don’t. Either way, you’ve set yourself up once again to be on the wrong side of an issue that most every Canadian agrees upon: that government-enabled and sponsored illegal toxic drug addiction is wrong on every level imaginable.
