Quebec By-Elections: Dion’s Swan Song, Harper’s election trigger

NDP picks up urban Outremont with a left-wing former Liberal candidate. Conservatives pick up small-town Roberval with a massive victory. Bloc barely holds on to ex-urban/rural St-Hyacinthe/Bagot. Conservatives make massive inroads; Bloc and Libs are crushed. Dion’s on the way out, Iggy’s on the way in. Harper will do his best to piss off the lefties with his throne speech to trigger an election – the stars have never been aligned this perfectly for a Conservative majority. Anyone who tells you Harper doesn’t want an election…they’re insane. Only the opposition parties are afraid of the polls!

Been blogging tonight at SmallDeadAnimals…you’ll find my comments in Kate’s election night post here.

  1. Linda

    Your limerick was stellar!
    I’m still laughing over it.

  2. Thanks. For posterity, here it is – my response to Kate at SDA’s call for Jason Cherniak limericks, as posted to SDA last night:

    There’s a blogger named J. Cherniak
On the payroll; a Liberal hack
Put his eggs in one basket
    Now Dion’s in a casket
Your integrity’s gone; grab a snack.
